Highway by Imtiaz Ali

Highway directed by Imtiaz Ali a 2014 release, is a Hindi movie(India). Even though from the southern tail end of the nation I don't follow that language as natives do.  Watching the remake of a 2007 release Jab We Met from the same director some time back pushed me to watch this one even there was a difficulty in understanding the dialogues.

Highway, which fits into a road movie category didn't disappoint me in terms of visuals. The speed at which the story unfolds taking the viewers along with the characters to places was perfect. The script was a fine one, and as claimed by the director its dormancy for 15years is surprising. As with the editing part there were no major hiccups as the transition from one scene to another was smooth. Coming down to costumes and set design I didn't find anything odd except for one scene where the female lead runs in the darkness(which would've been done better).

Finally the music and sound, that was a fantastic combination. Obviously we cannot expect something substandard from the Oscar winners, and they have done complete justice. Overall I enjoyed the movie. And I'm writing this listening to the songs from it looping in my head phones :)
